The history and culture of a city is best experienced by walking through its streets that have hundreds of years of legacy. A heritage walk has a potential and power to become the dynamic nucleus of the heritage movement in the country. It helps develop an identity & connect with the local communities, sensitize them towards the historical value of their settlements, inculcate a sense of pride and appreciation and enthuse them to preserve their own heritage. Initiated in 1997, the Heritage Walk of Ahmedabad gives people an opportunity to explore the multi-layered history, legacy and vibrant life in walled city – the soul of the city. The narratives are tailored to link past with present and sometimes even provides a glimpse of future. The walk takes you through the numerous pols – self contained neighbourhoods sheltering large numbers of people, havelis with ornamental facades and number of ornate religious complexes, traversed by narrow streets, usually terminating in squares with chabutaras. 

Walk through the bylanes of this living heritage, as diverse, vivid and vibrant as the colourful graphics of this photo+graphic exhibition!

City Heritage Collection For a company dealing with thousands of years of traditional culture, City Heritage is very young. But it has undertaken the responsibility of preserving the design forms of India with passion and sincerity. City Heritage has explored and experimented with numerous art and craft styles to make the products contemporary in utility with the ‘Old World’ charm and charisma. City Heritage Collection attempts to document and popularise the unique Heritage of our cities and their protection for our future generations.
